Q: There is something wrong with my slug(s)/order!!!!

A: I try to only sell quality slugs, but two things that are inevitable with 3D printing is the texture caused from layer-by-layer additive manufacturing, and that the bottom sides of the slugs never print perfectly because 3D printing has a really difficult time with steep overhang angles. If your slugs seems broken or messed up beyond these two things, please reach out! Also, the slugs are pretty sturdy but can come apart. Usually they will easily snap together! However, if the plastic cracks completely, please let me know and I will try to replace it or refund it depending on my inventory. If the break is small and you have had your slug for awhile and just want to try and DIY it so you don't throw your precious slug friend away, super glue works really well to fix 3D prints too! 

 

Q: My tracking number says "Delivered" but my order did not arrive.

A: Almost everything I ship is done through USPS, so if they have misplaced your package or delivered it to the wrong place, please file a claim with them here.

 

Q: I am on your website and I can't find any slugs?? 

A: If you can't buy slugs, they are probably sold out. My last restock sold out in less than 2 minutes (not sure if future restocks will always go that quick though). If you can't find the slugs AT ALL, it is probably because they are in draft mode as I edit them, add new species, and update the inventory. They will reappear as soon as the restock goes live, so head to the product page and be ready to refresh!

 

Q: When is the next restock???

A: The next restock should be sometime in July! I will be on vacation for most of the month, but please enter your email at the bottom of the page to get a restock announcement when I choose a date. Also, my sister & her boyfriend will be staying at my house petsitting and slug printing while I am gone, so my vacation won't affect the amount of slugs being sold! 

 

Q: Can you do preorders?

A: I don't plan on doing preorders right now for a few reasons. Some of the colors of filament might be discontinued, I might come up with printer maintenance issues, etc. And I don't want to be in slug debt for a year! But I will keep making them as fast as I can, and I will also be buying more 3D printers as time goes on. 

 

Q: Do you ship to [insert your country here]?

A: Yes, I ship everywhere! There is an app at checkout that automatically calculates the shipping cost from Boise (me) to wherever you are! I have had a few people ask me for shipping estimates to certain countries, and I haven't figured out how to do that yet without going through the checkout process (sorry I'm new to this), but I will keep trying to figure it out in the meantime. Please note that VAT charges may apply upon arrival in the EU.

 

Q: Why is international shipping for my slug SO EXPENSIVE? But the international shipping for the merch is so much cheaper?

A: All of my slugs ship from Boise, ID. However, the merch company I go through has locations all over the world. This means that if you place an order, and your shipping address is in the U.K. for example, the merch company will create your shirt or sticker at their facility that is closest to you, and in many cases that means it is created in and shipped from your own country! 

 

Q: I want an UNCRACKED SLUG NOWWWW!!!! 

A: As of now, I have no plans to sell uncracked slugs for a few reasons. Many times, they crack super easily as I am taking them off the printer, and sometimes they don't crack at all, making them Rescue Slugs. I know a lot have you said it would be worth the risk of ending up with a defective slug for the sake of getting your chance to be a slug chiropractor for JUST TWO SATISFYING AMAZING SECONDS, but it would also involve a TON of work on my end, making new barcodes for all the slugs that are uncracked because my inventory would have to count them as a completely new item. However, I have two solutions for you: 

1) I will start doing uncracked slug giveaways on Instagram, and set aside the slugs that look like the will stay uncracked through out their journey to you (but still be satisfying--not frustrating--to crack). So keep an eye out for that!

2) This summer I plan on designing a toy that will be designed to be cracked over and over and over again, so you are paying for infinite crackles instead of just a second's worth. 

But I hear your demands and I am doing my best to meet them!! Thank you for understanding. 

 

Q: Your slugs are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE!!!

A: 3D printing is SUPER COOL but a very slow method of manufacturing. The baby slugs take 6 hours to print, the mediums take 9 hours, and each large takes 12 hours to print, so please remember that I am not an oversees factory mass producing small plastic toys. I am just a mechanical engineering student overloaded with homework with some 3D printers in my garage, but you are amazing for supporting a small business and helping me make my dreams come true! As I am able to buy more 3D printers, I plan on lowering my prices a bit as time goes on and I am able to produce more slugs, more efficiently. But remember, you can always buy a Rescue Slug for $4 + shipping if cost is an issue, and most of the Rescue Slugs' defects are very minimal!

Q: Can you give me the species I want when I order a Rescue Slug?

A: I have recently outsourced my packaging and shipping to Verde Fulfillment, a local fulfillment center here in Boise. Because of this, I have to put each slug + the certificate(s) in a little baggie with a barcode on it, and all of the Rescue Slugs are now under the same SKU/barcode when they are picked to be shipped. Outsourcing the fulfillment is going to help me be much more sustainable, in addition to freeing up a ton of my time to focus on my homework, designing new products, and printing more slugs! But not being able to pick your Rescue Slug species is the downside of this. I will think about doing separate color barcodes for rescues in the future, but it would add a TON of work for me on a product I am not making any money on (and I am super overworked right now as it is). But I hear you, and I will keep it in mind. In the meantime, thank you for understanding and let's just think of them as fun "Mystery Slugs"!
